Cruelty free beauty - & Other Stories

It's been a little while since I posted, and even longer since I posted a beauty post. I've had these for ages, I picked them up in the sale at & Other Stories a while ago, and forgot all about them until I found them while unpacking the other day, yes I'm still unpacking despite moving months ago!

& Other Stories, from what I can gather, is a reasonably new addition in the UK, but I love it. I don't have very way out/ experimental fashion tastes and always prefer pretty plain, neutral pieces, and this shop is full of those! Plus it sells everything from clothes, candles, shoes, jewellery, bags, and of course beauty, including makeup so you can do a pretty comprehensive shop while you're in there!

Anyway, onto these products. Like I said they were in the sale, but even full price the products here are really affordable.

I haven't used body spray since my Impulse days but picked this up and thought it'd be nice to use as a much cheaper alternative to perfume, it smells really fresh (as they all do, because they're all in the same scent).

I especially like layering lots of products with the same scent, and this is such a cheap way to do this. I love it after a shower, particularly after the gym, when I can smother myself in the body souffle and hand cream then go heavy with the body spray.

Anyway, as it's name suggests, the body souffle is a lighter alternative to a body cream, it's really light and sinks in really quickly and leaves your skin feeling lovely and soft. It's definitely more of an everyday product, so after a bath or if I'm having a bit of a pamper evening I would use something a bit more intensive.
The body mist, like I mentioned, is something I would throw on after a shower, I like the fact that it's so cheap that I can cover myself with it with reckless abandon so I'm completely immersed in the scent. Something I'm always reluctant to do with perfumes. It smells lovely and fresh, and using it over the top of the body souffle just intensifies the scent further.
Lastly the hand cream, now I am a bit of a hand cream fiend. I wash my hands a million times a day because of the work I do in my *real life*, and as a result my hands are consistently dry. This is a lovely, thick hand cream, that's thicker even than the souffle and makes your hands feel so soft, and they even look softer!

Now I couldn't find out much online about it's cruelty free status, but the lady in the shop assured me it most definitely is cruelty free, and their website confirms this also so let me know if you know any different.

Well that's it for now, just a quick one for today, but I have so much planned for the run up for Christmas and beyond, so keep checking regularly as things are about to get pretty exciting!

  4. I haven't heard of this brand before. But this looks really great. I'm a fan of layering products with the same scent as well, it makes it easier when everything I use is the same scent. Body souffle sounds so great! I hate how sometimes after putting on cream or body butter it feels kind of sticky and heavy and takes a while to absorb. Definitely keep sharing these kinds of posts! I really like reading them. I hope your week is going well!
